What Cebu Hotels Have In Store for Chinese New Year Celebrations This 2017

Cebu prepares for the celebration of the Chinese New Year with hotels gearing up with special events on Saturday, January 28.

Cebu Hotels Chinese New Year Celebrations

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu will host the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China Mr.  Shi Yong’s dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival on Saturday. They will also have the Giant Yee Sang Salad Toss on Lunar New Year’s eve and complete the celebration with firecrackers, lion and dragon dance, wushu performance, coin tossing, and eye dotting. They also invite guests to indulge in Chinese cuisine at Café Marco’s lunch and dinner buffet called “Culinary Impressions of China,” which will run from January 27 to 30.

Radisson Blu will prepare a special Chinese buffet on Saturday with the menu consisting of authentic Chinese dishes from Chinese Chef Ang Cheng Yew. They have also put up their money tree.

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa will get the Chinese festivities going on January 28 at its lobby. Celebrations will start at 10:30 am and will include eye dotting for the traditional lion and dragon dance, firecrackers, and a Prosperity Toss. Their Chinese restaurant, Tea of Spring, which was hailed in Philippine Tatler’s Best Restaurants Guide 2017 as one of the Top 20 Best Restaurants, will offer Chinese New Year menus from January 26 to February 5, featuring dishes from Chef Boon Bun Hue. Families can even do their family toss with their own plate of Yee Sang.

Shangri-La’s Tides also offer a Lunar New Year Dinner Buffet with free-flowing standard beverages, which will be available from January 27 to 28.

Cebu Hotels Chinese New Year Celebrations

The Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan is also preparing to usher in the Year of the Red Fire Rooster with their own set of festivities. They will offer a Chinese New Year buffet at Uno from January 28 to 29.

However, the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel already hosted its special lunch with Casino Tin Gow last January 19.
