For an authentic island hotel-resort experience that literally touches the sea surrounding Olango Island in Cebu—and enjoys it too—Talima Beach Villas and Dive Resort is the apt option. Olango is just 5 kilometers east of the island of Mactan right amid the Bohol Strait and Camotes Sea. It is famous for its wild life and marine sanctuaries. This modern tropical hotel is nestled on this haven.

Getting to Talima

Getting to Talima from the Pier can be arranged via a special boat trip, bypassing the land. Or, you can opt for the public ferry boat from Mactan going to Olango, and then to Talima Beach Villas and Dive Resort. The sea trip will prove rewarding, especially if you are a dive and sea life enthusiast.

Rooms

All room types at Talima are definitely tropical and Oriental, simply designed and furnished and yet not lacking in style and elegance. They are air-conditioned, with private bath and toilet facilities, designed with a subtle mix of stone and indigenous materials, furnished with native gears and furniture, plus an attractive play of delicate curtains. Some room types are called by indigenous terms like Sinamay and Banig which offer views of the great waterfront, the ocean, and the garden via their balconies.

The rest of the room types are the Villa [a huge accommodation with a living area, kitchenette, and dining area]; the Poolside family Room [for small groups]; the Poolside Room [for 2 occupants]; and the Economy Room [for 2 persons].

Features and Amenities

No doubt, the main feature of Talima Beach Villas and Dive Resort are the pristine sea waters surrounding it, the coral rock beachfronts, the coral rock cliff, the infinity swimming pool, and of course, the popular dive center manned by dive experts of the Polaris Dive Center, with no less than 15 years of experience in the Visayan sea.

Aside from the sea, marine life, and sea activities available [scuba diving and snorkeling in the 14-hectare fish sanctuary], the hotel-resort also boasts of amenities like its restaurant, beach bar, sun decks, and beach cabanas. Guests also get to enjoy sports like beach volleyball, badminton, and water sports. Parlour games and massage service are also available, as well as manicure and pedicure. Island hopping and eco tours, especially to the Olango bird sanctuary, are easily arranged.

Proximity

The hotel-resort is just 10 kilometers away from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Lapu-Lapu City. Malls and other commercial shops and businesses are 25 kilometers away.
