Cebu has been chosen as one of the top 15 islands in the world by readers of luxury and lifestyle magazine, Conde Nast Traveler.
In a Facebook post on March 10, the magazine announced the winning islands in the 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards survey, with over 300,000 readers as correspondents.
Cebu ranked fifth, Palawan second, and Boracay was voted as the best island in the world, at least outside of the US.
More details about each island can be found on Conde Nast Traveler’s website.
Cebu was described as Philippine’s “most densely populated island,” most notable for its beaches and lots of up-and-coming shopping outlets and restaurants. The magazine even gave its readers a tip – to try the island life on the Camotes Islands, two hours from Cebu.
Cebu’s Uber-luxurious Island Resort
The luxury magazine also named Abaca Resort in Mactan Island in Cebu as one of the five luxurious island resorts in the Philippines. It specifically took note of the resort’s award-winning restaurant that offers wood-fired pizza, meat, pasta, tapas, seafood, and freshly baked breads as must-tries.
Abaca treats its guests to a private, tranquil, tropical destination that offers a great oceanfront view. It has three expansive villas and six deluxe suites to choose from and a spa for utmost relaxation.
