Virgin Island

Just like the amazing beach at the Santa Fe Beach Resort, the Virgin Island at the eastern side of Bantayan is equally awe-inspiring. Locally known as Silion Island, it is home to a fish sanctuary, where you can even interact with the schools of fish by feeding them, play on the white sand, try row boating, and snorkel as much as you can. You can reach the Virgin Island after 30 to 45 minutes on a motorized outrigger boat from Santa Fe. Make sure to book your reservations at one the resorts if you are planning on staying overnight. It is a privately-owned island, well-maintained and managed by its owners. You won’t run out of places to rest on the island as it has loungers, picnic huts, and hammocks. It would be more economical if you visit the island with companions since you can divide the cost of the renting a boat to get to and from the Virgin Island from Bantayan Island among each other.
From the North Bus Terminal in Mandaue City, Cebu, take a bus heading to Hagnaya. Take a ferry from Hagnaya Port to Bantayan Island. Ferries depart as early as 7 a.m. and stop operations at 5 p.m. daily. From Bantayan Island, look for locals whom you can deal with for a roundtrip ride on a boat to the Virgin Island. Bangka rental rates range from P1,000 to P1,500.
