Hermit’s Cove

Located in Aloguinsan in southern Cebu, the Hermit’s Cove is a favorite among those who love camping out on the beach for an all-out breakaway from the city life. It is gifted with a long stretch of white sand shaded by tall coconut trees along the shore. Since there are no restaurants or eateries nearby, you have to come to the resort prepared with provisions. Make sure to bring food, beverages, although there is a small sari-sari store in the area. You can cook or grill seafoods at the beach’s cooking area using some firewood or charcoal.
If you don’t have a tent, you can always rent one at the beach. You can also go snorkeling using rental gears. Rental boats are available so you can try swimming and deep diving, as well as island hopping and if you’re lucky, go dolphin sighting. There are resorts near the cove so staying overnight will always be an available option for you.
To get to Hermit’s Cove, go to the V-hire terminal in Junquera St. near USC and look for one bound for Toledo. Trips are available from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. After an hour to 1.5 hours, you will reach the Toledo Terminal, where you have to take a jeepney to Aloguinsan. From Aloguinsan, take a habal-habal to Hermit’s Cove.
