The festivities will go on at Ayala Center Cebu despite its closure some parts of the mall burned down from the fire that broke out on January 5.

The mall will continue to host Sinulog activities, although there will be some venue changes as events will be moved to other parts of Cebu Business Park, according to the mall operator, Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI)’s corporate communications manager Atty. Jeanette Japzon.

The Balik Cebu Welcome Dinner will be hosted on January 18 at 6 p.m. at the Sinulog Ballroom at the City Sports Club instead of inside the Ayala mall.

The Kapuso Fiesta will also continue on January 19 but it will be moved to the Pescadores Road.

The Plus 63 Music and Arts Festival on January 20 and the Sinulog Festival of Light grand fireworks on January 21 will still be held at the same area where they were originally booked at the Cebu Business Park.

Japzon said that while they are done with the “thorough cleanup and systems check” of the mall, the CHI is not yet ready to open it to the public for safety reasons.

Metro Retail Store Group Inc. said that they are still in the process of removing the cooling tower, chiller, and generator sets, which they started on January 13. However, they cannot ascertain as of now when the building that was razed by the fire will be torn down.
