Bai, a homegrown hotel, opened 200 out of 668 of its rooms. More rooms are expected to open in the coming days as the hotel boasts of being the biggest accommodation facility that is based outside of Luzon with its 72,000-square-meter area. A hundred more rooms will likely be opened to the public, with guests possibly enjoying the hotel’s executive club rooms soon.

The hotel establishment, managed by Bai Global Properties LLC Inc., is ideally placed along the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City, close to the city’s business and commercial districts and across the Cebu International Convention Center. One can venture outside to visit the two nearby shopping malls and the attractions of Fort San Pedro and the Magellan’s Cross Monument, as well as all the other delights of the bay area.

Bai Hotel Cebu is the destination hotel for both business and leisure travel as it is home to 12 conference and meeting rooms as well as eight dining venues. In fact, six premium restaurants had their soft opening, including the Wallstreet Coffee+Bar, Lobby Lounge, Cafe Bai, Umi Japanese Cuisine, and Pool Bar. By December, just time to accommodate those who want to celebrate Christmas with their family, friends and colleagues, Bai Hotel will open its Twilight Roofdeck Lounge + Bar. Its ballroom can also cater to events with as many as 350 to 400 guests, while Café Bai can entertain around 420 diners.

Guests can choose from different types of accommodation – deluxe, deluxe garden suite, deluxe suite, premiere, premier suite, executive, junior suite, executive one-bedroom suite, executive two-bedroom suite, penthouse suite, presidential suite. All the rooms have an electronic safe, mini refrigerator, and an electric iron with the accompanying ironing board.

There is what so called an infinity lap pool on the 21st floor, a roof deck, spa, gym and others. It is also a business-type hotel as commercial outlets are made on the ground floor level that are for lease.  Guest rooms will be occupying the 6th to 22nd floor of the hotel.

This facility caters premium opportunity to jobseekers also. Bai Hotel General Manager Alfred Reyes said that there will be wide job occupancy on the start of operation.

The proprietor, the Lua family, is planning to expand this facility as a chain of hotels in the region; however, the timeframe for such is yet to be determined. This is the same family that owns the Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc., which sells Nature’s Spring, one of the biggest bottled water brands in the Philippines. The family has set their sight on expanding to Mactan, Camotes, Iloilo and Bohol, according to Reyes.

Aside from Bai Hotel, the Bai chain will also offer the Bai Express, Bai Serviced-Apartments, and Bai Resort.

Bai Hotel is one of the members of Worldhotels, an exclusive group of hotels that aim to constantly boost the sales, distribution, support and marketing of its member hotels around the world.

One little fact. The “bai” in Bai Hotel is a Cebuano term often used to refer to a friend.
