Uniquely located right next to the Mactan Airport runway is Joaquin Runway View Grill which opened on June 8, 2017 and prides itself of bringing authentic Bacolod’s best grill goodness to Cebu City. Thus, rightly is it given its name, especially with how customers enjoy the vast panoramic view of the airport runway and give the grill food dishes their thumbs up.

Moreover, it is conveniently found near the airport, about 5 kilometers or 15 minutes away. During arrival or pre-departure of your guests, it is easy to take them to dinner here. But of course, Joaquin Runway View Grill is good for any occasion. It is also just a few meters from the Carmelite School and Portsville Subdivision so it should be easy to spot.

Menu Offered

Menu at Joaquin Runway View Grill offers a wide range of grill dishes, Bacolod style. Customers are reminded never to miss their Bacolod chicken Inasal, for instance, which is chicken grill with all the flavor, juiciness and plump intact. Major grill selection includes pork, meat and fish, although they also serve your favorite streetfood barbecue like “isaw” and blood cake.

A best seller at the restaurant is “Pata Baby” which is tender pig’s paw stewed spicily with vegetables. There’s also the fast becoming customers’ favorite, “Bacolod’s Best Pulutan Pork Kilawin,” which are strips of pork cooked in vinegar and spices. It often works well as a side dish with drinks (pulutan) but some folks find it better partnered with rice.

And how about menu prices? Well, consensus is divided between those who think the prices are a bit high and those who think they are just right.

Ambience

Where else can you enjoy Bacolod grills plus one-of-a-kind view of the airport runway? Imagine dining with friends while watching planes take off or land in the distance. And the sight is more romantic at night, especially when you dine under the stars in a cool evening in its open space area and the sweet scent of grilled food is everywhere.

There’s plenty of room with its 100 pax seating capacity, although the place can get crowded during peak hours, which is often at sun down. So it’s best to be there at 4 pm when it opens for the day. Service tends to get a bit slow during peak hours. The restaurant closes at 12 midnight.

Avail of their free parking by going there early, as the area tends to be full-packed at peak hours. You always enjoy fresh air on Joaquin Runway View Grill’s rooftop, overlooking the runway and some parts of Barangay Buaya in Mactan.
