To mark the end of the Museums and Galleries Month celebration, Museum Sugbo is offering free museum entry on October 28, with an array of activities for kids and adults alike, from storytelling to open mic for music and spoken word poetry.

The museum will make its 12 galleries available for free and treat its guests to different activities, including free guided tours, storytelling session for children, and free workshops on spoken word poetry and writing. To further encourage art development, Museo Sugbo also provides a coloring station for kids.

These activities are available without charge from 9 am to 6 pm. The guided tours will start at 1 pm, followed by storytelling for kids at 2 pm. Writing workshops are scheduled at 3 pm, while the open mic session for spoken word poetry and music will start at 4 pm.

The Libreng Suroy event is an initiative of the Cebu Provincial Government, Museo Sugbo, the Cebu Literary Festival, and Cebu Provincial Tourism Office. It aims to expand art and cultural awareness among the Cebuanos.

Those who have time to spare may also be interested in checking out Casa Gorordo Museum, where a 3D map showing Cebu City’s roots is available. Close by is the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House and the Museo Parian sa Sugbo, which should make for a quick museum hopping tour. A visit to the nearby spots of Fort San Pedro and Plaza Independencia should make a somewhat fruitful cultural visit in the same area.
