SM City Cebu will open its Christmas Village of Hope to the public on November 11 at The Northwing Atrium.

Aside from being an enchanting prime attraction of the mall in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season, it also signifies the bountiful blessings and atmosphere of the season. The village’s unveiling will be done together with the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas Tree at around 6 p.m

The Christmas Village of Hope, as designed by couple Clayton and Joji Tugonon, features 700 miniature houses, five moving trains, moving figurines, Christmas Mickey Mouse train, Disney’s Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and many more. These are all part of the couple’s massive Christmas décor collection, which they started in 1993.

This was last year’s display at SM City Cebu, as featured on GMA’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.”

The Christmas Village of Hope is an annual charitable project for the children with cancer under the care of Kythe Foundation Inc. Donations are very well welcomed from donors who may visit the Northwing Atrium starting the 12^th of November. They may choose a “Christmas House” that they want to sponsor or adopt. They can also opt for the figures for adoption that range from P5, 000 to P30,000.  The funds gained from this project will pay for the laboratory works, other medical treatment procedures, medicines, and parties and events hosted by Kythe.

There are also other Christmas tree lighting events to expect in Cebu. The Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino already had theirs on November 6. On the 10^th will Radisson Blu’s turn for its blue Christmas tree, followed by the Marriott Cebu City Hotel on the 16^th. The next day will be Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino’s tree lighting affair. Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa will have their “starry tree-lighting ceremony” on November 24, while Marco Polo Plaza Cebu’s Tree of Hope will start shining on November 25.
