Oslob, town of Gentle Giants

Adjacent to Alcoy is the town of the gentle giants, the municipality of Oslob.

Located in Brgy. Tan-awan, the whale-shark (butanding / tuki)

Oslob

A wet blessing for the town. Whale sharks are spotted in Tan-awan, Oslob which is 10 km away from the center of the town. It started last September 2011, thereafter it became popular worldwide and became an instant attraction. Fishermen acting as feeders interact with the whale sharks by feeding them by hand while tourists are capturing the moment and find it entertaining.

Whale shark watching and swimming with them in the Philippines is on the bucket list of sightseers and foreigners. Who wouldn’t? Coming face to face with these giants is an experience for a lifetime. At a reasonable price, you’re ticket is worth the happiness, fun and challenging it brings on. It is a unique and bewildering experience.

To get there is a direct ride from the south bus terminal to Tan-awan, Oslob.

Cuartel Oslob

Adding to the limelight is the Municipal Heritage Park. The park comprises the heritage sites of Oslob: the Cuartel, Baluarte, the church and its walls and gates.

Seemingly a simple park in a sense of course which conducive too for the rises and sets of the sun. It overlooks the sea which can lead you to meditate because of the tranquility of the place. Decorated with wooden benches where you can continually invigorate your spirit and contemplate. Exemplary for self recollection and rest break. It sits adjacent to the town church. Sit for a while and feel the breeze.
