Dalaguete, place of Alluring Wonders

Next stopover is the nature-gifted town of Dalaguete, Cebu Philippines.

It is the place of alluring wonders. From the scenic view of breathtaking peaks and enchanting reefs and beaches, to natural-born springs teeming with thick vegetation and marine life.

Obong Spring

The Obong spring in Dalaguete is an unspoiled fresh water spring. Now considered as a pool where the water is naturally cold and refreshing beating the scorching heat of the sun. Due to the progressive influx of tourists and the neighborhood itself, dressing rooms are erected and lifeguards are on strict vigilance. A payment of hundred bucks to use a table just beside the spring; however a picnic blanket can suffice for the food and other stuffs. Cottages are also available. It is a must experience dive in here.

Osmena Peak

Considered to be the highest peak across the province is the Osmena Peak. Mantalongon, Dalaguete has been a tourist destination for mountain climbers. The place was once called the little Baguio of Cebu due to cold weather and its remarkable altitude.

Mountaineers love this place and dwell for days. The peak gives us a splendid view of multiple jagged hills. From the summit, a breathtaking view of long shoreline, the island of Badian, lush farm lands and view of the islands of Bohol and Negros will greet you. What is more awesome is the magnificent scenery of every sunrise and sunset. A peak never seen by the majority.

To get there, take the big buses stationed at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Look for buses travelling southwards to Oslob or Bato via Dalaguete and drop off at Dalaguete junction. From there you could take a habal-habal to the jump-off. Bus ride, taxicabs and vehicles for hire are widely available in Cebu South Bus and Mactan International Airport for local and foreign tourists who want to reach this famous destination.
